In this two-day ETFO session participants from across Ontario were invited to explore ways to empower girls in STEM learning and understand potential STEM careers. We explored what research says about the importance of engaging girls in STEM fields. We also networked with colleagues and experienced practical STEM activities and problem-based learning that would be taken back and immediately use with girls in schools. Participants tried strategies such as coding and design thinking to support girls learning in their schools learned ways to encourage girls to consider non-stereotypical pathways.
